Top 100 Innovator 2021: ZECK is rewarded

Press release November 26, 2021

Success at TOP 100: Ranga Yogeshwar pays tribute to ZECK

Überlingen - Ranga Yogeshwar today congratulated ZECK GmbH from Scheßlitz on their success in the TOP 100 innovation competition with a personal video. In addition, the science journalist paid tribute to the achievements of this year's TOP 100 companies on Friday at a joint online conference. The occasion was the TOP 100 final, which was originally intended as a face-to-face event. Ranga Yogeshwar accompanies the 28th innovation competition as a mentor. In the scientific selection process, ZECK impressed in size class B (51 to 200 employees), especially in the "Top management that promotes innovation" category.

The TOP 100 company portrait published on the occasion of the award states (excerpt):

In the Zeck family, energy is not a foreign word. In 1918 Michael Zeck sen. founded a company for special agricultural machines. In 1966, his son Fritz developed a new type of tensioner that made it possible to pull power lines without damage from friction. Michael Zeck junior has been running the company since 1992. The trained mechanical engineer also has a weakness for innovations. The agricultural machinery trade has long been a thing of the past, instead expanding into two other business areas: special machines for the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines and for the electrification of railway lines. Thanks to his expertise, the company also became a sought-after supplier to two companies that specialize in the construction of ropeways.

Thanks to its innovative strength, ZECK has been a technology leader for years and is also in increasing demand internationally. The company employs around 165 people in Germany. Around 20 of them work in the development department, which is in close contact with the management. “I am very tech-savvy and therefore attend the technical meetings every week. Actually, I'm less a business economist than a technician, ”admits Michael Zeck junior.
